On Thursday, 15-5-2025, the minister of transport and Public Works, Major General Mohammad Ayash qahim, reviewed the progress of work at the berths of Hodeida port, and the level of efforts exerted in facilitating, keeping up with and regularity of the entry and exit operations of ships to and from the docks.

During the visit, he listened to an explanation from the crews on duty about the mechanism of work, the scheduling of ships, the procedures followed in organizing unloading operations, the extent of the smooth navigation movement after the port was bombed by the Zionist aggression, and the continuous measures to overcome obstacles and ensure the arrival of necessary supplies to the Yemeni people.

Minister qahim praised the efforts of the port's staff and their responsible performance for the continuity of navigation and commercial services, stressing that their steadfastness and continuous efforts represent a national model to face the repercussions of the repeated Zionist aggressions, and to continue work on receiving and unloading ships despite the direct targeting of infrastructure.

He stressed the ministry's keenness to continue the field landing to track the performance of ports, foremost of which is the port of Hodeida, which suffered significant damage due to its targeting by the Zionist enemy, indicating that the ministry attaches the highest priority to this vital sector in its current and future plans to ensure the continuity of its service and economic role in serving the Yemeni people

 He pointed to the importance of the port of Hodeida as an economic and humanitarian facility that represents a major lifeline in Yemen, pointing to the interest of the leader of the revolution, the chairman of the Supreme Political Council and the government of change and construction to address the conditions of the port, and their continuous guidance to rehabilitate it and ensure its readiness to deal with various circumstances and changes.

The minister of transport and Public Works pointed to a number of programs to be implemented to enhance the role of Hodeida port in meeting basic needs, and raise its technical and operational capacity to keep pace with the increasing volume of maritime traffic, stressing that the challenges will not be an obstacle to the National will, but an impetus towards further development to secure the arrival of goods and various commodities.

He praised the professional commitment and high patriotic spirit of the employees of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation and its leadership, praising the spirit of responsibility and discipline shown by everyone, which had a great impact on the port's continued performance of its duties despite the damage it suffered.

The minister of transport and Public Works, Major General Mohammed Ayash qahim, on Sunday, 13 Dhu al-Qa'da, 1446 AH, corresponding to May 11, 2025, with the leadership of Yemen Red Sea ports corporation, discussed the mechanisms to enhance navigational activity in the port of Hodeida, and intensify efforts to address the damage caused to the docks as a result of the Zionist targeting, which contributes to maintaining the continuity of Maritime Services and securing the flow of vital supplies to the country. The meeting, which was held at the port of Hodeida, included the chairman of the port, Mr. Zaid Ahmed Taha al-washali, his deputy, Mr. Nasr Abdullah Al-nusairi, and a number of general managers, reviewed the latest developments in the various port facilities, and to determine the extent of damage to the piers, as well as the measures required to ensure continuity of performance and overcome the current challenges in the ports of Hodeida and Ras Isa. Minister qahim stressed at the meeting that all employees at Hodeida ports are (Mujahideen) in the economic front, which is one of the greatest fronts that provides food and medicine to all the Yemeni people, praising their high patriotic spirit and dedication in performing their tasks. He stressed the need to strengthen cooperation with various concerned authorities at the highest levels, calling for benefiting from all national experiences in order to support the port and continue its vital activity and face all challenges. The minister of transport and Public Works pointed out that there are emergency measures that must be taken urgently to avoid possible damage to the infrastructure, especially after the Zionist targeting of the berths, which requires quick action from the concerned authorities. He explained that the port of Hodeida, thanks to God and the efforts of sincere men, continues to provide its services to all ships arriving to it, stressing that the difficulties and obstacles faced by the port will be overcome with a strong will and unrelenting determination. He also stressed the importance of the committees in charge of inventory, assessment and documentation completing their tasks quickly and submitting their reports first-hand, so that appropriate measures can be taken to address the damage and rehabilitation. For his part, the head of the port, Mr. Zaid Al-washali, stressed that the leadership of the port and all its technical and administrative cadres are working at a high pace around the clock to ensure the continuation of work in the ports of the institution, pointing to the keenness to strengthen coordination with all relevant authorities to accelerate repair and maintenance operations, to ensure the restoration of full operational readiness of the port. He pointed out that the technical and engineering teams have started from the first moment the work of inventory, assessment and urgent treatments both in the port of Hodeida and Ras Isa, praising the efforts of the workers and their resilience in the face of challenges, stressing that the ports of Hodeida will remain a major lifeline serving all the people of Yemen. After the meeting, Minister qahim, along with the chairman of the board of directors, Zaid al-washali, his deputy, Nasr al-nusairi, and a number of general managers, were briefed on the extent of the destruction caused to the docks of the port, the measures taken and the efforts exerted in the rehabilitation and restoration works. Minister qahim praised the efforts exerted, stressing the keenness to double those efforts, especially in light of the exceptional circumstances the country is going through. The minister of transport and Public Works also visited the crew of the JI ZHE 2 container ship, which arrived at Hodeida port, where he presented them with souvenirs on the occasion of the repeated docking of the ship for more than ten commercial flights to the port, despite the failed American escalation, which confirms the growing international confidence in the efficiency of the port and its ability to continue providing its Maritime Services.
