The meeting at Salif port Conference in Hodeida Governorate, on, Thursday 10-5-2023 AD, Chairman of the Board of Yemen Sea Red port Corporation, Engineer Yasser Muhammad Ahmed, discussed the activities of the port, and highlighted the basics and its operational requirements to keep pace with the movement of ship flow activities.
The meeting, which included the port’s management and workers, reviewed the visions and recommendations related to projects to develop and activate the port’s activities, including amending the list of unloading contributions, allocating space for offices of shipping companies and services, establishing a control tower for ships in the summer, marketing the internal spaces of the port, completing the maintenance of cities and pomegranates, concealing water drainage, and installing Fenders for the western summer and improved measuring equipment for cargo handling.
The meeting approved the assignment of project management to envisage the establishment of a number of projects for the communications infrastructure of the port network, and it also decided to oblige all employees working in the port to work according to environmental maintenance standards.
The meeting aims to ensure that the main institution provides the required and necessary requirements for the port of Salif Projects and provides it with development, including producing unloading efforts and reducing the speed at which ships remain at sea.
He urged the port management and workers to improve performance, supply of services, cooperation and coordination between the port management and relevant bodies and deal with us, and the problems facing the port in implementing the TSHEEL system for its services.
While the Deputy Director of the Port, Hussein Nasser, reviews the general activity of the port during the period “January - September” of the current year 2023 AD, noting that the port participating during this period is 87 ships and tankers with a total tonnage of two million and 764 trucks and 592 tons of various goods and fuel.
After that, the main institution reviewed comprehensive services that include the port of Salif, activities and navigation in the port’s berths and spaces, the movement of handling and unloading ships and its affiliated services.
He praised the efforts in providing cargo unloading services, including the facilities and integration between the various groups working in the port with the shipping companies, stressing the need to exert more effort and raise the level of efficiency of port services.
The chairman also visited the tug "Ras Issa" and heard from its technicians an explanation about the extent of success in training and pilotage for arriving ships.
In addition, the chairman of Yemen Red Sea Contributions Corporation, Ras Issa Oil Port and its development projects failed to improve its services. He enjoyed an explanation from the director Mr. Ibrahim Moqbel about the port’s activity and the movement of the cooperative oil flow, as he noted the unloading and pumping of fuel into the tanks and loading into the locomotives, so he attributed it to the governorates.
The head of Yemen Red Sea Shareholders Foundation, who is the worker, technical and administrative engineers, praised the level of their efforts in maintaining and designing equipment and mechanisms during the period of aggression and siege.
