A statement Issued by Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation Regarding the Seventh Anniversary of the Aggression Targeting the Port of Hodeida

Yemen Red Sea Port Corporation, confirms that the seventh anniversary of the targeting of the port of Hodeida by the US-Saudi aggression “on 18 of August 2015”, comes this year in light of a declared third truce that was renewed for two months, and the side of the aggression did not commit to implementing its provisions as its predecessors and the countries of the aggression are still practicing their crimes in imposing the siege and obstruction The work and activity of the Corporation and the ports “Hodeida, Salif, Mokha, Ras Issa”, and the entry of more than 600 items and commodities was prohibited, as well as the entry of spare parts for equipment, machinery and gantry cranes, in clear violation of all international treaties, agreements and covenants that stipulate the delivery of Materials are delivered to the people during periods of war, and container ships have been strictly prohibited from entering through the port of Hodeida since 2017, in addition to the oil tankers that were covered by the truce, they are detained for varying periods, as well as the port of Mokha, which is still under Emirati occupation and the Yemeni people does not benefit from its services not to mention the total cessation of the Ras Issa oil berth in Salif and the prevention of oil tankers from entering it since it was targeted by the aggression in the middle of 2017. As for the truce, the situation is the same like before as it is.
The corporation notes that on the technical side, the United Nations and its organizations did not abide by the commitments of the Stockholm Agreement, which was concluded on December 13, 2018, and stipulated that the Development Program provide support to the corporation to improve the efficiency and productivity of Yemen Red Sea ports under Security Council Resolution No. 2245 of 2019 And not to transfer the UNVIM mechanism for the control and inspection of ships from Djibouti to the port of Hodeida, according to the Stockholm Agreement.
The corporation points out that the aggression countries' targeting the ports is a cheap method that they have been using since their declaration of aggression against Yemen, and it is a clear and declared war crime and in full view and hearing of the international community, which is complicit with the enemy and who denies all human values and all relevant laws, charters and treaties.
The Corporation reiterates that its ports play their humanitarian and relief role in accordance with international laws and norms and comply with the international system for port security, and ships returning to it are subject to United Nations control procedures.
The Corporation holds the United Nations and its envoys to Yemen and the relevant international organizations full legal and moral responsibility towards the aggression and siege against the people of Yemen.
On the seventh anniversary of the targeting of the port of Hodeida, the Corporation calls on the UN Security Council and the United Nations to lift the siege on its ports and end piracy and the detention of food, medicine and oil derivatives ships by the coalition of aggression without any restrictions or conditions.
