On Sunday 23-1-1444 AH, meeting at Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation in Hodeida Governorate, headed by the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Dr. Rashid Abboud Abu Lahoum, discussed the status of the Corporation and the projects that were implemented in the port.

The meeting, which included the Ministers of Industry and Trade Mohammad Al-Mutahar, Electricity and Energy Dr. Mohammad Al-Bakhiti, the Governor of Hodeida Mr. Mohammad Qahim, and the Chairman of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, Captain Mohammad Ishaq, stressed the need to establish a solar power plant in the port to provide renewable energy and reduce dependence on fuel.

The meeting discussed the technical support that will be provided to the Corporation to complete the preparation of the study for the solar power plant project in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs praised the Corporation's performance and implementation of the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council regarding the reform of economic units.

Chairman of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, praised the attention given by the Deputy Prime Minister to the Corporation and his keenness to rehabilitate the port and its readiness.

The Minister of Finance Dr. Abu Lahoum, along with the Ministers of Industry and Electricity and the Governor of Hodeida, reviewed the maintenance and rehabilitation projects in Hodeida Port, which included the maintenance of the container road and public warehouses, the rehabilitation of the incubators’ hangar, the building of the Training and Information Center, and the construction of the canopy of electric generators.

They were accompanied during the visit by the Director of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office for Economic Affairs Mr.Kamal Khaled, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for the Regulatory Sector Mr. Nasr Al-Nusairi, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Governorate Mr. Ahmed Dahmous and the directors of Hodeida Electricity Mr. Ayoub Al-Bahri and the Industrial Zone Mr. Abdullah Al-Bakari.

On Saturday, 22/1/1444 AH the leadership and employees of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation participated in the massive standing demonstration that took place in the city of Hodeida, to denounce the detention of the diesel oil ship (Mazot) “Golden Eagle” dedicated to the electricity of Hodeida by the countries of the aggression coalition, and to prevent its entry to the port of Hodeida despite its inspection and obtaining an entry permit from United nations.

At the stand the governor of Hodeida, Mr. Mohammad Ayash Qahim, and officials of the service offices, the corporation’s employees raised banners, chanting slogans condemning the arbitrary measures committed by the countries of the coalition of aggression against ships of fuel, food and medicine derivatives that cause a humanitarian disaster against Yemenis and a violation of the truce.

They hold the United Nations and the international community fully responsible for these abuses, which aim to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people.

They pointed out that our Yemeni people, in the eighth year of steadfastness, possessed the factors of steadfastness that they did not possess during the previous years in the face of the forces of injustice and arrogance.

The demonstration witnessed a large official and a lot of people presence, during which the participants silently condemned the United Nations, which did not take any positive action to stop the maritime piracy of the coalition of aggression and fully fulfill the terms of the agreement to ensure the regular flow of fuel to the port of Hodeida.

They pointed out that the detention of fuel ships is a crime that is inconsistent with the heavenly laws, customs, charters, and international and humanitarian laws.

They stressed that the delay in the arrival of fuel will cause electricity blackout and aggravate the humanitarian and service situation for citizens.
