A meeting in the port of Hodeida, which included the Minister of Transport, Mr.Abdul Wahhab Al-Durra, and the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation, Ibrahim Al-Hamli, discussed issues related to the needs of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation.

The meeting, which was attended by the Chairman of the Corporation, Captain Mohammad Abu Bakr bin Ishaq, reviewed the needs of the port of Hodeida and the importance of providing them, in order to enable the port to play its role in receiving relief, food and oil ships.

The meeting discussed on the projects that the United Nations and international organizations have pledged to implement in the port of Hodeida, including the provision of cranes and bridge cranes, and the purchase of marine boats to assist in towing ships.

At the meeting, the Minister of Transport stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Ministry, the Foundation and the Council for Humanitarian Affairs in a way that serves the public interest, pointing to the need for the Council to communicate with donor organizations to implement projects related to Hodeida ports.

 Al-Durra pointed out that the ministry and the corporation provide all facilities to the United Nations organizations and give priority to ships carrying humanitarian aid to the Yemeni people by anchoring at the docks of the ports of Hodeida and Salif.

Pointing out that the ports of Hodeida represent the only window for Yemen to the world in the delivery of basic materials and petroleum oil to more than 70% of the Yemeni people, and through them more than 80% of humanitarian and relief aid arrives.

Appreciating the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in activating the role of the Ports Corporation in meeting the needs of the community and alleviating its suffering despite the aggression, the blockade and the damage to the equipment and devices that were targeted by the aggression’s warplanes to remove it from technical readiness.

While the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs pointed out the importance of the humanitarian and service role of the ports of Hodeida.

Al-Hamli stressed the Council's keenness to provide the port's needs for equipment and operational machinery to enhance its navigational and humanitarian services.

The Chairman of the Corporation appreciated the support of the leadership of the Ministry and the Council for the Corporation, stressing the importance of providing cranes, bridge cranes, marine boats, and spare parts for incubators and mechanisms in the port of Hodeida that need urgent maintenance to ensure continuity of operation.

Pointing out the need for the United Nations to fulfill its promises that it made several times to provide cranes and maintain the port equipment, so that it can return to work with its full operational capabilities to what it was before the aggression.

The meeting was attended by the director of the Council’s branch in Hodeida, Jaber Al-Razhi, and programs at the United Nations Office for Project Services “UNPS” Khaldoun Salem, general managers of the office of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, Nabil Al-Mazaji, planning and statistics, Waddah Mujmal, the container terminal, Shawqi Murshid, industrial safety and security Bandar Shara, and legal affairs, Mutahar. intentional

The Board of Directors of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation approved, in its meeting, in the port of Hodeida, headed by the Minister of Transport, Mr. Abdul Wahhab Yahya Al-Durra, the final account of the Corporation for the year 2020.

The Council reviewed the Corporation's achievements in developing the port of Hodeida after its destruction by the aggression warplanes, despite the scarce capabilities, in order to ensure the continuation of the port's work in serving the humanitarian aspects and providing basic foodstuffs to the Yemeni people through relief and humanitarian ships.

 He spoked on the current year's projects approved within the framework of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

The Council appreciated the visit of the member of the Supreme Political Council, Mr. Jaber Al-Wahbani, the Prime Minister, Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh bin Habtoor, and the Deputy Prime Minister for National Vision Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Junaid, Services and Development, Dr. Hussein Maqbouli, to the port of Hodeidah, and to see its status, the services it provides, and the difficulties it faces. He praised the efforts of the Corporation's leadership and employees to improve work in the ports of Hodeida and Salif.

 The Minister of Transport stressed the importance of government support for the advancement of the maritime sector in line with the strategy represented by these ports as an important economic tributary and in the interest of the Yemeni people.

 Al-Durra valued the interest of the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council in supporting the ministry in overcoming the difficulties that stand in the way of the corporation's port performance and its humanitarian and service tasks.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Corporation, Captain Mohammad Abu Bakr bin Ishaq, reviewed at the beginning of the meeting the most prominent problems and difficulties facing the Corporation and the catastrophic repercussions due to the continuation of the blockade and the prevention of entry of container ships and spare parts.

He explained that the Foundation is working with self-efforts to facilitate the arrival of humanitarian aid, basic materials and oil derivatives to the Yemeni people, despite the obstacles imposed by the aggression on the port of Hodeida.

The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the Board, Member of the Board of Directors, Mr.Zaid Ahmed Al-Washli, and members of the Board of Directors.
