The leadership of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation carried out, on Thursday, 10 Dhu al-Qa'da 1446h, corresponding to May 8, 2025, a field visit to the berth of Hodeida port, to honor the captains and crews of the berthed ships, in recognition of their steadfastness, and keen to continue performing their duty and professional role.

During the visit, the vice chairman of the port, Mr. Nasr Abdullah Al-nuseiri, along with the director of the Office of the chairman, Mr. Ali al-Ansi, the manager of the container terminal, captain Mohammed Al-SAIS, and the director of Legal Affairs, Mr. Mutaher Al-AMDI, met with the captains and crew members of the ships, to review their conditions and support them at their work sites, as part of the foundation's efforts to support the continuity of the port days after it was targeted by the Zionist aggression aircraft.

Al-nusairi and his companions honored the crews with the port's  shield and symbolic gifts inspired by the Yemeni folk heritage, expressing pride in their efforts and their effective role in maintaining the port's activity and the flow of vital goods.

 The vice chairman of the board of directors praised the vital role played by the maritime crews in ensuring the access of essential goods to the Yemeni people, stressing that this effort represents a symbol of steadfastness and economic resistance.

He explained that this field honor expresses the foundation's deep gratitude for the exceptional efforts exerted by the crews in the face of various circumstances, pointing out that the continued reception of ships and unloading their cargo directly contributes to meeting the food and medical needs of Yemenis.

Al-nusairi pointed out that the gifts presented to the crews, including Onyx and Yemeni coffee, as well as souvenirs, reflect the foundation's attachment to the national heritage and its keenness to honor all those who contribute to serving the country.

He stressed that the workers at sea, especially ship crews, Masters, marine engineers, operating crews and services, represent the backbone of the navigation movement, and are given special attention by the institution, recognizing the importance of their strategic role in supporting the national economy and the continuation of civilian life.

The ship crews expressed their appreciation to the leadership of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation for this kind gesture, stressing that the Honor is a great moral incentive to continue to perform their tasks wholeheartedly in a working environment that requires constant vigilance and continuous effort.

Minister of transport and Public Works Mr. Mohammed Ayash qahim, on Wednesday, 9 Dhu al-Qaida 1446 AH, corresponding to May 7, 2025, together with the team of the United Nations mission to support the Hodeida agreement "UNMHA", inspected the damage caused to the berths of the port of Hodeidah, as a result of the raids launched by the Israeli enemy aircraft, last Monday.

During the visit, minister qahim and the UN team listened to a detailed explanation from the chairman of the board of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation, Mr. Zaid Ahmed Taha al-washali, and his deputy, Mr. Nasr Abdullah Al-nusairi, about the extent of damage caused to the port's infrastructure, the repercussions of this targeting on the operational and service aspects in the future, and the efforts and emergency works to ensure the continuation of cargo unloading operations and the flexibility of receiving ships

The minister of transport condemned the Israeli crime against the port of Hodeida, holding the United States and the Zionist entity fully responsible for this blatant attack, which targeted a sovereign civilian facility that provides humanitarian and commercial services to the country.

He pointed out that the Israeli enemy's targeting of the port of Hodeida reflects the state of helplessness and failure that it has reached in the face of the Yemeni popular steadfastness, and exposes its desperate attempts to bring Yemenis to their knees by hitting their vital arteries.

Minister qahim called on the UN mission to carry out its responsibilities assigned to it under the international mandate, condemn this brutal targeting, and submit a documented report on the damage and violations that affected the port, as a civilian facility subject to international protection under humanitarian laws.

He stressed that the failure of the United Nations to do its duty regarding this crime is an indirect complicity, and the consequences are borne by the international community, pointing out that the repercussions of the bombing affects the food and humanitarian security of millions of Yemenis who depend on the services of this maritime facility.

Minister qahim praised the steadfastness of the leadership of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation and its employees, and their continued conduct of operational work despite difficult conditions and repeated challenges.

For their part, the members of the UN mission team expressed their deep dissatisfaction with the destruction of sidewalks, squares and infrastructure, expressing their deep concern about the seriousness of the situation, and what it portends of catastrophic repercussions on the humanitarian and service track in Yemen.
