Discussing the Performance of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation and Evaluating its Financial Position for the Third Quarter of the Year 2022

On Wednesday 4-6-1444 AH, corresponding to 12-28-2022 AD, The Board of Directors of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation discussed, in its meeting today, via the “Zoom Video” live broadcast technology, headed by the Minister of Transport, Major General Abdul Wahhab Yahya Al-Durra, the level of performance of the Corporation, and the evaluation of its financial position for the third quarter of The year is 2022 AD.

The meeting reviewed the mechanism for implementing the decisions of the Board of Directors, and aspects related to plans, activities, programs and strategic projects to rehabilitate and modernize the corporation's ports within the framework of the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state.

The Minister of Transport stressed the importance of translating the directions of the leadership of the revolution and the political leadership in line with the national vision for building the modern Yemeni state, pointing out the need for the departments' plans and programs to contribute to achieving positive indicators in light of the repercussions of the continued aggression and siege.

The meeting, in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance for the Economic Units Sector, Dr. Akram Al-Washli, listened to a report from the Chairman of the Corporation, Captain Mohammad Abu Bakr bin Ishaq, about the achievements made by the Corporation and its continuation in serving the humanitarian aspects and providing basic foodstuffs to the Yemeni people despite the challenges and difficulties it faces.

He expressed his hope that the institution's urgent and necessary needs, which were submitted to the Council of Ministers, would receive attention and priority, given the nature of the Corporation's exceptional work in serving the people of the country as a result of the continued aggression and siege.

Captain Ishaq, stressed the importance of government support for the Corporation and providing the necessary facilities for it to be able to continue its work in providing its indispensable services to the Yemeni people.

He pointed out that most of the equipment and mechanisms are in urgent need of maintenance and the purchase of new equipment, including marine boats for towing and guidance, and other necessary equipment and mechanisms, not to mention the bridge cranes that were destroyed by the aggression and prevented from entering spare parts.

The meeting, in the presence of the Corporation’s Vice President, Mr. Zaid Ahmed Al-Washli, and members of the Board of Directors, appreciated the keenness of the Ministers of Finance and Transport to adopt the matrix of emergency and necessary needs for the Corporation’s ports.

The meeting praised the efforts of the leadership and employees of Yemen Red Sea Ports Corporation to continue work, in light of the US-Saudi aggression and their dedication to performing the duty entrusted to them.

He also appreciated the performance of the General Administration of Financial Affairs and its cadres in completing the financial reports according to the time period specified for them.
